About

We have invested in advanced technology for the early diagnosis, monitoring, and management of your skin condition. Some of these include automated total body mole mapping with artificial intelligence, digital dermoscopy, lasers as well as tools used for minimally invasive aesthetic treatments.

Automated Total Body Mapping With Artificial Intelligence – Fotofinder

The automated total body mole mapping tool photographs and records all your moles but also helps identify suspicious, new, and changed moles fast and precisely.

This tool scans and takes standardized pictures recognizing the moles that ‘stand-out’ and need further assessment or removal. All mole pictures can be magnified, and the characteristics of each mole can be analysed. Furthermore, these pictures are saved and automatically compared to new ones on your next visit in order to identify any new or changing moles.

Mole mapping is particularly useful for monitoring people with several moles, people with personal or family history of melanoma or anyone who wants a detailed mole assessment with photographic documentation.

Digital Dermoscopy – Medicam 1000

This top line camera for dermoscopy offers CrystalView technology. This gives us sharp images of the skin and hair. Optical magnification up to 140 times with live zoom and focus, polarized and non-polarized light can be produced.

This in combination with automated total body mapping can help analyse and characterise suspicious skin lesions.

Dermatoscope

A dermatoscope is a handheld tool that can magnify skin lesions up to 10 times. It is key in clinical dermatology as it helps the dermatologist to quickly assess the colour and structure of a mole or a skin lesion and in experienced hands it can help the early and fast diagnosis of melanoma and other skin cancers.

Biopsy And Minor Surgery

After examining your skin, your dermatologist may suggest further assessment of your skin condition by performing a biopsy. During a skin biopsy a small sample of your skin is obtained, under local anaesthetic, and sent for analysis to our laboratory. This is important in order to clarify the diagnosis in ambiguous skin conditions and rashes but also in moles and lesions that are clinically suspicious for cancer.

The GMI offers a histopathology laboratory where skin samples are sent for analysis.

Cryosurgery

Cryotherapy is the treatment where skin lesions are treated with application of a cryogen. Several types of superficial lesions (benign, pre-malignant or even superficial skin cancers) can be treated with this method.

The CryoPen can be used to precisely treat smaller lesions in adults and children. The Cryogun is usually used for large or persistent lesions.

Electrical Arc Sublimation Therapy

The plasma arc device operates creating a minute electrical arc at its tip, called the plasma arc. When it touches the skin it microvaporises a tiny dot on the skin surface.

It is used to precisely treat small lesions on the skin in clinical and aesthetic dermatology.
