Nephrology Equipment
About

One of the first priorities of the GMI’s nephrology department was to create a space where patients could be comfortable, rest and enjoy unparalleled views of the Limassol by area. Therefore, we created a dialysis unit that is not reminiscent of a hospital environment, but more of a resort. In this space patients have their treatment while enjoying the view and our modern and colorful interior desing.

As our primary goal is to tailor treatment to the needs of each patient, all possible options in dialysis treatment are available. This is of course supported by the continuous training of our staff, the close monitoring of all the latest technological and scientific developments, as well as the staffing of our department with qualified nephrologists and nursing staff with experience in the field.

Machines Panel

On the panel of the dialysis machine 5008s all the information of the hemodialysis prescription, as well as the patient's weight, are automatically recorded online by entering the hemodialysis patient's card through the TDMS system software.  Also, there is monitoring of all machine panels centrally from the computer. In this way, the possibility of nursing or medical wrong instructions is reduced to a minimum and at the same time the monitoring of hemodialysis is upgraded to the maximum.

Scale

Our department is equipped with Seca scales. It is the world's leading scale company.

There is one scale on each floor and one of the two has the ability to weigh the patient together with the wheelchair for the best possible comfort of the patient.

Both scales are connected to the TDMS software, which means patients simply insert their card to the scale and the weight is transferred directly online to the dialysis machine.

Fresenius 5008S CorDiax

Our department is equipped with Fresenius 5008S

CorDiax dialysis machines. These are the most advanced machines available from the German manufacturer of dialysis products. They can perform all kinds of dialysis treatment, while remaining environmentally friendly, and possess state-of-the-art while electronic monitoring technology, all the while maximizing safety during treatment.

Water treatment unit

The water treatment unit, which is essential for dialysis treatment, is run by Fresenius machines, which ensure water quality is always at optimal levels.

Granumix

Using Granumix simplifies the preparation process, storage and delivery of hemodialysis concentrate.

Granumix increases security (supporting system validation and revalidation, pre-defined preparation process) and reliability (high durability thanks to simple setup, long lifetime as a result of small number of moving parts).

Ultrasound

Access to the bloodstream is essential for an effective hemodialysis session. Nurses play a vital role in the care and management of the patient’s vascular access (VA). The use of ultrasound (echography) is a powerful tool in achieving a smooth and successful cannulation, no matter the difficulty (be they standard or challenging cannulations) nor the VA type (arteriovenous fistulas or grafts).

Exias

The EXIAS Analyzer is an electrolyte system intended for in-vitro measurements of Na+, K+, Cl-, Ca2+ as well as pH and Hct, in whole blood, serum, plasma and urine (undiluted). High accuracy and ease of use. He have our results in 25 seconds.

IEM Mobil-O-Graph 24 Hour ABPM

The IEM Mobil-O-Graph is a highly intuitive, easy to use and fully automatic 24 hour Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitor. It has achieved the best possible A/A grade for accuracy from the British Hypertension Society and is ideal for monitoring blood pressure for up to 48 hours.
