Welcome to the Department of Otorhinolaryngology of the German Medical Institute.

Our mission is to provide a professional and honest approach to healthcare. At the GMI, we can provide all services involved in otorhinolaryngology, which is a specialisation that brings together the largest variety of procedures when compared to any surgical specialty. Our fully equipped otorhinolaryngology department offers patients an accurate diagnosis and effective treatment through our state-of-the-art equipment and our medical expertise.

Ear

  • Problems outside the ear
    • Wax in the ear (hives)
    • Otitis externa (swimmer's ear disease)
    • Trauma and foreign bodies in the ear canal
    • Ear problems in the summer
  • Middle ear problems
    • Acute otitis media
    • Secretory otitis (fluid in the ear)
    • Drum perforation (from acute otitis media)
    • Drum perforation (from injury)
    • Otosclerosis
    • Flying, diving and barotrauma
  • Inner ear & auditory nerve problems
    • Auditory trauma
    • Tinnitus (ringing in the ears)
    • Sudden hearing loss
    • Presbycusis (ageing hearing loss)
    • Noise-induced hearing loss

SPECIALISED MEDICINE ROOM

HEARING FUNCTION: complete audiological check with tonal audiogram, speech audiometry, tentative dynamic otoacoustic emissions, assr, cochleography. 

Vertigo and dizziness

Benign positional vertigo in a specially designed room with cold and hot diffusion tests, frenzel glasses and video nystagmography.

Nasal Cavity

  • Aesthetic nose problems
  • Hubris (hump in the nose)
  • Scoliosis of the nasal septum
  • Hypertrophy of nasal cones
  • Sinusitis (paranasal sinusitis)
  • Nasal polyps

Pharynx

Otology - ear surgery 

  • Removal of foreign bodies from the external auditory canal
  • Surgical repair of ear flap injuries

Nose operations (nose surgery)

  • Plastic surgery of the nasal septum
  • Restoration of nasal concha hypertrophy using ultrasound or radiofrequency
  • Invasive Conchoplasty - Conchotomy
  • Endoscopic microsurgery of the paranasal sinuses
  • Endoscopic removal of nasal polyps
  • Endoscopic removal of foreign bodies in the nose
  • Surgical repair of nasal wounds
  • Treatment of chronic sinusitis & sinusitis

Pharyngeal - mouth operations

  • Tonsillectomy
  • Surgical opening of peri-maxillary abscess and neck and pharyngeal abscesses
  • Adenotomy 
  • Endoscopic removal of foreign bodies in the pharynx
  • Surgical rehabilitation of Sleep - Snoring Disorders (Sleep Apnoea Syndrome)
  • Cross-section of the short tongue - lip carpal tunnel
  • Surgical repair of tongue and oral cavity injuries
  • Treatment of pre-cancerous lesions of the oral cavity - tongue.

Laryngeal surgery

  • Laryngeal and vocal cord surgery (Phonosurgery)
  • Surgical removal of polyps – nodes – leucoplakia
  • Endoscopic removal of foreign bodies from the larynx

Minor interventions

  • Removal of skin lesions, benign or malignant, on the face and ears.
  • Treatment of tinnitus or sudden hearing loss by intratympanic injections.

Treatment of oncological cases.

The GMI Otorhinolaryngology department focuses on innovative and patient-centric research. With this in mind, we actively participate in projects which implement the latest Artificial Intelligence tools for a better stratification of our patients.
