Georgios Toulkeridis

The complexity of physiology and the multitude of vital functions they perform, make the kidneys the most important regulators of our health. The treatment of their pathology is critical for the survival and quality of life of people. Therapeutically, a holistic approach to patients is always needed. These were the reasons I loved and followed the specialty of nephrology.

Dr. George Toulkeridis was born in 1978 in Thessaloniki. He graduated from the 2nd General Lyceum of Sykes and initially studied for 1 year at the Department of Biology of the University of Crete. Subsequently he entered the Medical School of the Democritus University of Thrace, where he graduated in 2005. After completing his military service as a private doctor, he served as a rural doctor at the Sikaminia Regional Medical Centre of Lesvos. He then worked as a pathology resident at the Hospital for Special Diseases of Thessaloniki ‘Infectious Diseases’. He continued as a resident in nephrology at the General Hospital of Komotini “Sismanoglio” and completed his nephrology specialty at the University Nephrology Clinic of the Hippocratic General Hospital of Thessaloniki. In December 2014 he moved permanently to Cyprus and worked as a nephrology specialist at the General Hospitals of Larnaca, Famagusta and Paphos. Since January 2022 he has been working as a nephrology specialist – head of the Nephrology Department – at the German Oncology Centre in Limassol. He lives in Limassol, is married and has two little boys.
