General Surgeon

Michail Feretis

MIchailFeretis _02

I qualified from the University of Aberdeen, UK with a Bachelor in Medicine and Surgery (MBChB) in 2007. I completed my 2 year internship (foundation) appointments in Scotland and subsequently moved to the north of England for basic surgical training (2 years). Subsequently I secured a place in the UK National Training programme for General Surgery in East of England spending half of my training (3 years) in hepatobiliary/liver transplant surgery in Addenbrooke’s hospital, Cambridge. During my training tenure I was affiliated with the Cancer Research Institute (CRUK) in Cambridge conducting basic science experiments on the tumour immune properties of pancreatic cancer. I gained entry onto the UK’s specialist registry as a General Surgeon in 2022. Upon completion of my higher surgical training, I pursued further subspecialty training (fellowships) in advanced pancreatic and liver surgery in large hepatobiliary centres in Basingstoke and the internationally renowned Liver Unit in Birmingham, UK.
